One of "14 Europeans who changed our world during the last twenty years"

I am very proud to tell you that, as one of the fathers of the European ERASMUS programme, I have just been chosen by an independent panel of Spanish scientists and academics as one of 14 Europeans who changed our world during the last twenty years (see the interview for more information on my contribution to the launching of the ERASMUS programme).

The fourteen personalities include as well people like: the architect Norman Foster, the quantum physicist Juan Ignacio Cirac, the father of molecular cuisine Ferran Adria, the anthropologist Dame Jane Goodall, one of GSM’s creators Matti Makkonen, one of the MP3 inventors Karl Heinz Brandenburg,…

Organized under the auspices of the European citizen section of the Agenda Project promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, each of these fourteen personalities has defined one of the major challenges Europeans face between now and 2030. Over the next few weeks, European citizens are being asked to vote for their choice with regard to these fourteen challenges (for more information on my challenge, watch the video). Their choice will then be taken into consideration by the EU as part of its long-term strategy.
