The stability of Euroland cannot depend on national elections and institutions

The outcome of the Italian elections has shown once more that in order to be successful in the long run Euroland needs its own elections and institutions. The European citizens’ movement Newropeans therefore demands once again that Euroland receives a democratically elected parliament of its own, which elects and controls a Euroland government. The responsibility for the single currency then would be at a common structure and so independent from national turbulences.

Franck Biancheri, a great European, a fighting democrat, and a wonderful person, succumbed to severe illness on 30 October 2012 in Paris at the age of 51.

Nobel Peace Prize for EU: Sustainable peace needs democracy!

The committee of the Nobel Prize for Peace in Oslo has awarded the European Union for creating and maintaining peace in Europe now for more than five decades. Newropeans demands for a common Euroland economic Government – now!

The trans-Euroland citizens movement Newropeans calls for a Euroland economic government. After the election of François Hollande as French president the situation now is opportune and auspicious in order to establish the so far missing Euroland economic government.

Last weekend, representatives of the Pirate parties from 20 countries of the EU met in Prague to discuss their European networking. In line with the Pirates movement, everywhere in Europe, anger about social, economic and political conditions can be seen, showing that people are trying to find new political ways of expression. Newropeans is back! The European citizens’ movement has taken one year time to revamp itself. In the future Newropeans has decided to focus its contents and commitment to Euroland while key demands remain democracy and leadership.

Let’s transform the Greek tragedy into the first Eurozone epic!

Newropeans strongly opposes the continuation of European military involvement in the war in Afghanistan.

The USA have independently decided to send a further 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, assuming this is the answer to the problems of Afghanistan. Furthermore, they expect the Europeans to send between 5 000 and 10 000 additional troops without any kind of European involvement in a joint assessment of the future strategy for Afghanistan.
As Newropeans stated in it’s international policy programme, we are against the notion of the EU increasing it’s global influence through military means and (...)
